Lanzarote's October Fishing

Posted October 6, 2008

Last week we've only been fishing four days on the Margarita Segundo, and in each one of them we've had our fair share of Atlantic bonitos; they're not extremelly big catches but they still give quite a nice fight, plus they are extremelly handy when you spot a Hammerhead Shark, as we did last friday. We were sailing inbetween Lanzarote and Fuerteventura when we saw its fin, so we quickly reeled in all the rods and we hooked a bonito in one of them; within two minutes the shark bit. It was a good 40 minute fight, as the hammerhead was aproximatelly 80 kilos. We managed to take the hooks off and release it.
