Tuna season gets closer

Posted March 11, 2009

These last few weeks trolling on the Margarita has not been exceptional, but we've had some pretty good day's fishing and some great moments. Tuna season is about to kick off, and we've already seen lots of red tuna between two and five kilo that we've been releasing as minimum size is therty kilos. We're looking forward the coming weeks. It's been quite peculiar the fact that in past weeks we've encountered dolphins and whales on a daily basis.

On the other hand, bottom fishing on the Katfish has also been improving. Even though most of the time since the beginning of the year it has been extremelly windy, in recent weeks weather has been great, helping a lot with the fishing. We're not fishing as many black bream as before, but plenty more white trevally or couch's sea bream. Basically, less pieces, bigger sizes.
